
Good performance in the ring starts with the quality of the horse. Meet the sporthorses, the DVB Youngsters, own breeding products and sales horses of DVB. Of course, the biggest stars of the past are not left out either.
All horses at Dressage Stable Van Baalen receive the same five-star management that is tailored specifically to each horse. They come out daily, are trained by Marlies, Coby or the DVB stable riders and always get the best feed, bedding and physical supervision. In this way, they can perform to the best of their abilities.
Debussy recently entered our stable. This handsome big chestnut gelding has both the looks, the attitude and the talent for the heavy tour.
Together with Marlies he is developing excellently, and we look forward to seeing this combination grow. We can’t wait to see them shine in the competition ring soon!

This sensitive and quality star mare is a half-sister to Habibi DVB and also born at Dressuurstal Van Baalen. Jalila is a daughter of Sezuan out of Davina DVB (by Johnson). Very talented as a young horse and is currently being trained by Coby to the highest level. Jalila is dam of Omar (by Hermes), Pasquino DVB (by For Gold) Rania DVB (by Le Formidable) and Robespierre DVB (by All at Once).

Bred and raised at Dressuurstal Van Baalen and named after Marlies’ former champion horse Habibi! As a young horse, Habibi DVB was already successful, winning the Equisport Cup at age 4. He later competed three times at the World Young Horse Championships with Mara de Vries after which she and Coby successfully trained him to Grand Prix.
This appealing and quality gelding is a son of the elite mare Farzana G who was also trained at Dressuurstal Van Baalen. Farzana is currently being successfully ridden by Shanna Baars. Obama is very talented and is currently being successfully competed by Jos in the M class.

Pasquino DVB was bred and is owned by DVB. This handsome and striking Keur gelding is a son of the Grand Prix mare Jalila DVB. Pasquino DVB, who is a pleasure to ride, is successfully competed by Jos in the Z class and was crowned Hippiade champion in the Z1 class in 2026.

From the very successful line of Erludine DVB comes this beautiful black star mare. Nancy Reagan has the looks and attitude of both her grandmother Erludine DVB and her dam Jacky Kennedy DVB. Out of this lineage have already come wonderful sport horses and Nancy Reagan definitely belongs in this list as well. Nancy Reagan is dam of Santorini DVB (by Bloomberg).
Rulana T was bred by Emmie Twint out of the elite Small Tour mare Hulana T. Rulana is owned by Emmie Twint and DVB. The talented mare has three excellent gaits and is successfully competed by Jos in the M class; she also became Hippiade champion in the M1 class this year.
Noble Diamond DVB, bred by DVB, is a son of European Championship pony Wonderful Girl. The successful mare was ridden by Shanna Baars and Daphne van Peperstraten. Noble Diamond is He is very talented and is currently being ridden by Charline Chen in the 2026 Dutch Pony Championship, where he has already won two qualifiers.

Klein Roderijs Next Cassanova is a beautiful four-year-old pony gelding by FS Next Diamond. The NRPS-registered pony is currently being successfully ridden by Charline Chen in the 2026 Dutch Pony Championship, where he won the first selection round with a 9 for his canter and a total of 85 points.

The imposing KWPN-approved stallion Ferro (by Ulft) and Coby enjoyed an unprecedentedly successful sporting career. When the stallion was eight years old, Coby got to ride him and they soon belonged to the absolute world top. Highlights were the Sydney Olympics, with team silver and an individual fifth place, as well as the silver team medal at the European Championships in Arnhem and the World Championships in Rome. Not only in the sport, but also in breeding Ferro is very successful.

The Gribaldi son Pasternak DVB, bred at Dressage Stables Van Baalen, impressed at a young age with his talent at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. This special character horse ran successfully in the Grand Prix with Coby and was at the beginning of a wonderful international career, but unfortunately died at too young an age due to a viral infection.

Dhe KWPN-approved Inspekteur (by Darwin) was a true professor and a real family horse. He was the first breeding product of Coby’s father Jan Dorresteijn. Together with Marlies, he achieved fantastic results in youth, including EC team gold. This real character horse had many funny traits and later was the perfect schoolmaster for Marrigje van Baalen and other youth.

With his strong movements, the Habibi bred by Marian Dorresteijn and Hennie Broekhuizen had a lot of talent for the youth tests. Whenever he was allowed into the ring, he always grew a little extra. Together with Marlies, he took team and individual gold at the European Championships in Hickstead.


Kigali (by Wolfgang) began his successful career as a show jumper, becoming world champion in the five-year-olds. Kigali came to Dressuurstal Van Baalen for dressage only at the age of twelve. He was intelligent and great to work with. Coby trained him to Grand Prix and then Marlies also took place in the saddle of Kigali. Together they rode the World Cup finals in Las Vegas, among other events.



The elegant Miciano (by Medici) was owned by Marlies’ then trainer Johann Hinnemann. The beautiful chestnut had great talent for all Grand Prix exercises and under Marlies ran, among other things, the World Cup Final in Stockholm in 2013, became KNHS indoor champion in the Grand Prix in 2014, and achieved second place with the Dutch team in the Nations Cup at CHIO Aachen in 2014.
